At Viking Electric, our inventory accuracy powers everything we do—from supporting our warehouse teams to ensuring our customers get what they need, when they need it. We’re looking for an Inventory Specialist who enjoys digging into details, solving problems, and keeping operations running smoothly in a fast‑paced distribution environment.
What You’ll Do
- Perform daily cycle counts and reconcile inventory shortages
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances using system reports and research
- Process customer returns, RMAs/RGAs, and non‑stock material receipts
- Coordinate weekly bin maintenance and communicate findings to leadership
- Assist with annual physical inventory reconciliation
- Work closely with operations, sales, ERP specialists, and branch leadership
- Support continuous improvement efforts across inventory and warehouse processes
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of distribution or warehouse operations experience
- 2+ years of cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and automated systems experience
- Experience operating material handling equipment (1+ year preferred)
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving skills
- Comfortable working with Excel and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- High school diploma or GED required; post‑secondary education preferred
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to move throughout the warehouse for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Comfortable working in a busy distribution environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
- May operate industrial equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, cherry pickers, and reach trucks (certification as required)
