Brain Injury Support Worker
Location: Durham
Hours: 4-hour morning shifts, 7 days per week.
Pay: £16 per hour weekdays, £17 per hour weekends.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Brain Injury Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care and support to our client, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Requirements: Full UK driving license, confident driving skills, and access to your own vehicle are essential due to role responsibilities.
About the Client
Our client is in his 40s with a brain injury and multiple orthopaedic injuries from a road traffic accident. He has limited use of one arm and currently experiences passenger anxiety. We aim to onboard a Support Worker who can build a trusting relationship to help him overcome this, enabling him to go to the gym and participate in community activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized care and support to our client.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, meal preparation, and eating.
- Support the client with his rehabilitation program.
- Accompany the client to the gym and out in the community.
- Provide emotional support and companionship.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client\’s condition.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role, preferably with brain injury experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Energetic, upbeat, and empathetic nature.
- Interest in the gym is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work the specified hours.
- Valid UK driver\’s license.
