We are looking for a Regional Revenue Director to lead our Regional Revenue Management team in Europe. The Revenue Management team is uniquely positioned to drive Sonder’s success and profitability. The team creates and implements data-driven revenue strategies to optimize business performance, and is responsible for ongoing management of pricing and inventory. This role will report to the Regional Vice President, Europe Market Operations. This role is part of our flexible workplace initiative and is remote-optional.

AT SONDER YOU WILL:

  • Drive Commercial Performance: Ensure that sales and pricing strategies are based on sound commercial judgment through effective analysis and reporting. Deliver accretive growth in RevPar that drives profitability and Fair Market Share performance. Identify opportunities through channels and recommend channel marketing.
  • Build Trust with Key Partners: Work effectively with Revenue Management Sonderites, Operations, Sales, Marketing, E-commerce to ensure incremental financial performance (RevPar, EBITDA). Build an effective working relationship with hotel commercial teams and operations to maintain their trust and confidence in the Revenue Management’s decisions and actions pertaining inventory and rate control, pricing and overbooking. Conduct weekly business focus and group review meetings where the appropriate booking period is evaluated for proper rate and availability control.
  • Analyze Information and Monitor Performance: Provide critical analysis of strategies, room statistics and demand factors. Conduct displacement analysis of group business as needed to determine the impact potential businesses will have on RevPAR. Review all tentative and definite group bookings to ensure they support the implemented commercial strategies and group status is updated and group evaluator is used effectively.
  • Ensure Region Operating Plan and Forecast: Prepare all weekly, monthly, quarterly forecasts and budgets using appropriate systems and tools. Use specialist knowledge of the hotels and markets to produce and maintain hotel forecasts using prescribed tools. Prepare Annual Region Operating Plan revenue proposals. Perform OneYield forecast validation process on a regular basis to identify changes in trends and opportunities to enhance OneYield forecasts. Maintain OneYield interface where automated rate shopping is configured to ensure the yield system is configured for pricing adjustments appropriately. Proactively identify peak nights and peak periods to set KPI targets and action plans. Identify demand troughs and lead an action plan.
  • Support and Execution of New Initiatives: Support execution of new initiatives across key stakeholders including revenue management, marketing, distribution, sales, technology, ecommerce, loyalty, franchise services, business intelligence, and finance. Plan and support rollout and execution of initiatives. Develop project tracking for initiatives, communicate priorities, and report on progress. Establish and maintain strong partnerships across revenue management, marketing, business intelligence, technology, and other organizations.
  • Lead with Integrity and Purpose: Create belonging by promoting an environment of collaboration, trust, respect, opportunity, and inclusion. Communicate and set effective goals for Revenue Managers ensuring accountability in achieving these goals. Creates an environment that encourages accountability, high standards, innovation, and has clear performance expectations. Provide leadership to the Revenue Management team and act as main point of contact for special projects, including development of consistent deliverables. Manages team workload by delegating assignments appropriately, prioritizing group activities based on importance, urgency, and impact to goals, as well as ensuring team members have the equipment, materials, and other resources needed to accomplish their work.
  • Attract and Develop Talent: Responsible for the recruitment and onboarding of all new Revenue Managers, providing on the job observations and coaching to ensure consistent training across the team. Conducts observations of Revenue team members and delivers timely feedback to develop their skills and abilities. Provides input to enhance and develop tools for better and more efficient analysis.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business administration, economics, or finance; or equivalent training, education, and experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of related experience in a quantitative, strategic, or consulting role with progressive supervisory and/or project management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Proficiency in revenue management software and tools, such as revenue management systems (OneYield is a plus) and property management systems (Opera).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence decision-making; prior marketing experience preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to change and thrive in a dynamic, evolving industry landscape.
