The Opportunity
Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a talented disputes associate to join its London office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, cross-border disputes for a diverse international client base. The team is known for handling high-value matters with an international dimension, offering associates early responsibility, close partner interaction and exposure to a broad range of commercial disputes.
The Role
You'll join a collaborative disputes practice where lawyers work across a varied mix of commercial litigation and international arbitration matters, rather than specialising too early in one area. The role offers the opportunity to build a broad disputes practice while working on sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional cases alongside experienced practitioners.
Responsibilities
- Assisting on complex commercial disputes from inception through to resolution
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, submissions and other key case documents
- Supporting arbitration proceedings under leading international arbitration rules
- Working on cross-border disputes involving multiple jurisdictions and legal systems
- Contributing to hearing preparation, case strategy and evidence management
- Liaising directly with clients, counsel and colleagues across international offices
- Taking an active role in business development and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Candidate Profile
Applicants should have:
- 2–4 years' PQE in commercial litigation, international arbitration or a combination of both
- Experience gained at a recognised disputes practice
- Strong drafting, analytical and case management skills
- An interest in working across both litigation and arbitration matters
- Excellent academic credentials and strong communication skills
- A collaborative approach and the ability to thrive in an international team environment
