Job Description
One of the world’s most prestigious global law firms has the need to hire Senior Conflicts Lawyers into their global Legal Risk Group.
This is an in-house position within a truly market leading firm. It would suit a qualified lawyer with a minimum of five years qualified practicing experience, ideally with some of that time within a conflicts team already.
This is a global role in which you will assess the commercial and legal risks of new business acceptance. Importantly this includes conflicts of interest. Also, reputational risk, financial crime and suspicious transaction reporting. You will develop global procedures and policies and will contribute to thought leadership on this expertise.
For those already in a Conflicts role:
This an opportunity to progress your career within a firm at the most elite end of the market, within a Magic Circle firm working on some of the most sophisticated projects available.
You will join a brilliantly lead, diverse, high performing group with the best training and development available.
For those without Conflicts experience:
It would suit a lawyer who is looking for a different challenge, someone who wants a move away from fee earning but wants to maintain a sophisticated career within a market leading firm. A move into a Conflicts team comes with an improved work life balance when compared to working as a fee earner. Therefore the role would suit someone at a cross-roads looking for this transition.
Requirements:
- You should have a minimum of five years qualified experience gained within a top tier law firm. Ideally within a practice area which suits the demands of assessing risk and regulations, a practice area which involves the careful consideration, drafting and negotiation of complex legal documents.
- The role requires someone with gravitas as you will be advising partners, fee earners and senior management figures on key matters of business acceptance.
- The current Conflicts team is staffed by lawyers from different jurisdictions so this a role for which lawyers from other common law countries can apply, particularly Australia and New Zealand.
