Associate – Private Funds | Top-Tier London Practice | Up to 4 Years’ PQE
An elite, London-based law firm is looking to hire a high-performing Associate (up to 4 years’ PQE) to join its market-leading Funds team . This is a unique opportunity to join a highly respected and broad-ranging private funds practice, acting as a key point of contact for a major institutional client.
You will play a central role in managing and delivering client support across a wide range of private capital matters—primarily focusing on private debt , but also covering private equity, venture capital, infrastructure, and real asset funds . This is an ideal role for someone looking to build a career within a collaborative, client-facing environment, with exposure to high-profile mandates and complex legal work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as the lead Associate on ongoing legal support for a major client, including day-to-day and ad hoc advisory needs
- Managing inbound queries from client stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, Tax, Governance, Operations), supported by a legal project manager and dedicated paralegals
- Coordinating multi-jurisdictional regulatory advice affecting private funds
- Drafting and negotiating legal documentation, including placement agent agreements
- Overseeing client document portals, trackers, and marketing/regulatory filings
- Supporting other departments on fund-related elements of broader corporate or transactional work
- Contributing to knowledge management and internal training on fund-related developments
Requirements:
- UK, Ireland or AUS/NZ qualified lawyer
- Up to 4 years’ post-qualification experience from a top-tier private funds practice or in-house legal team at a private capital manager
- Excellent academics
- Strong exposure to private debt or other closed-ended fund strategies
- Excellent communication, drafting, and project management skills
- A proactive, collaborative mindset and a desire to take on responsibility early
- A genuine interest in fund structures, regulation, and innovation within private capital
