We are working with a leading energy infrastructure developer delivering large-scale, transmission-connected assets across the UK. As part of continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced HV Engineering Manager to support the development and operation of these assets. This role will take ownership of high-voltage systems, ensuring safe operation, compliance, and technical integrity across the asset lifecycle, from commissioning through to steady-state operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical authority for high-voltage systems
- Oversee HV safety, switching, and permit-to-work processes
- Support commissioning, energisation, and operational readiness
- Ensure compliance with grid, regulatory, and safety requirements
- Develop and embed HV procedures, standards, and governance
- Work closely with operations, contractors, and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Experience operating as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP)
- Proven experience carrying out HV switching up to 400kV (or equivalent transmission-level systems)
- Strong background in power generation, transmission, or large-scale infrastructure
- Experience supporting commissioning and energisation activities
- Solid understanding of HV safety rules, isolation procedures, and grid interfaces
Desirable
- Experience within asset-owning organisations
- Exposure to multiple sites or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Ability to contribute to long-term HV strategy and capability development
