We are looking for an NPI Development Engineer to join our Engineering team in Blackbushe. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in bringing innovative products into production, developing robust test solutions and supporting the transition from design to manufacture.
Working closely with engineering and production teams, you will help ensure new products are delivered efficiently, reliably and to the highest quality standards.
What you’ll be doing
As part of the NPI team, you will contribute to the development, validation and support of production test systems and processes for new Sonardyne products. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing high‑quality electronic test jigs and production test equipment
- Supporting the bring‑up and validation of new PCB assemblies
- Developing automated and manual test solutions to improve production efficiency
- Collaborating with Engineering and Production Support teams to ensure products are designed for efficient testability
- Creating technical documentation, specifications and test procedures
- Managing configuration and version control for production test systems
- Supporting fault‑finding and debugging activities across existing test processes
- Contributing to estimation and planning activities to support project delivery
- Mentoring and supporting colleagues within the team
- Supporting production test equipment throughout its lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning and ongoing improvement
About you
You will be a proactive and collaborative engineer with a passion for problem solving and continuous improvement. You will enjoy working across multidisciplinary teams and contributing to the successful delivery of complex engineering projects. You should have experience in several of the following areas:
- Electronics design and test development
- Production or manufacturing test systems
- Fault finding and debugging of hardware and software systems
- Technical documentation and code reviews
- Working within structured engineering or development environments
- Experience supporting production teams and developing automated test capabilities would be advantageous.
Qualifications
You will ideally hold a degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as:
- Electronic Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Embedded Systems Engineering
- Or a related subject
Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
