Sonardyne is a world leader in subsea technology, and our Manufacturing & Production teams play a vital role in ensuring our products reach customers safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. We are now seeking a proactive and detail-focused Storesperson to join our Stores team on a fixed-term basis, supporting the smooth flow of materials across the business.

About the Role

As a Storesperson, you will ensure that stock and non-stock items are received, stored, picked and delivered to internal and external customers in a safe and timely manner. You will work closely with colleagues across Manufacturing, Production and other departments, providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of accuracy, organisation and safety. This is a hands-on role within a busy production environment, requiring strong teamwork, good communication skills and a positive, flexible approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stock control - carrying out stock checks, picking kits and shortages for production, and fulfilling stock requisitions.
  • Order fulfilment - picking parts for sales orders and preparing items for dispatch.
  • Internal logistics - delivering and collecting parts across the site.
  • Safety & housekeeping - maintaining a safe, tidy working environment and following all health, safety, manual handling and COSHH procedures.
  • Continuous improvement - identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce errors and support best practice.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Full UK driving licence
  • PC literacy and familiarity with stock control systems
  • Strong attention to detail - accurate counting, weighing, labelling and following instructions
  • Good communication and teamwork
  • Experience in a production or manual handling environment

Desirable

  • Stores experience
  • Forklift truck licence
  • Experience handling electronic components in an ESD environment
  • Training in ESD, 5S or manual handling
  • Ability to identify and suggest improvements
