Who is Sonar? Sonar is driving the future of agent-centric software development. As the leader in AI code review and verification, we solve a critical problem: ensuring that software generated by AI-assisted developers or autonomous agents is reliable, secure, and maintainable. Integrating seamlessly with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, and Devin, we help over 75% of the Fortune 100 build trusted, reliable, compliant software. Customers who use Sonar are 44% less likely to report an outage due to AI-generated code. We believe code verification is the critical missing link in the Agent-Centric Development Cycle (AC/DC). Industry giants like Nvidia, ServiceNow, Booking.com, Goldman Sachs, AstraZeneca, and Ford Motor Company count on us to provide independent, explainable, consistent review and governance of their AI-generated code via products like:

  • SonarQube: The world’s leading AI code review and verification platform.
  • SonarQube Foundation Agent: Currently topping the leaderboards for agentic software repair.
  • SonarSweep & Sonar Context Augmentation: Providing the enterprise-grade context and constraints agents need to be truly effective.

Our team operates across global hubs in Austin, Bochum, Dubai, Geneva, London, Singapore, Tokyo, and Washington D.C. We move with a mindset we call CODE:

  • Committed to our customers and community.
  • Obsessed with quality.
  • Deliberate in our decisions.
  • Effective as one team.

With over $400M in revenue and profitable, fast-paced growth, we are building the backbone of the AI software revolution. If you’re hungry to have an impact, want to build at a fast pace, and ready to work at the forefront of AI, we want to hear from you.

Why You Should Apply:

At Sonar, we’re a group of brilliant, motivated, and driven professionals working hard to help supercharge developers to build better, faster. Sonar helps to continuously improve code quality and code security while reducing developer toil. This means that developers can focus on doing more of what they love and less of what they don’t. Our solutions don’t just solve symptoms of problems – we help fix issues at the source – for all code, whether it's developer-written, AI-generated, or from third parties. We have a dynamic culture with employees worldwide and hub offices in the USA, Switzerland, the UK, Singapore, and Germany. Team members should be able to come to work every day, work on a product they are proud of, love what they do, and feel energized by their peers. With our roots deep in the open source community, we’re all about the mission: supercharge developers to build better, faster.

The Impact You Will Have:

The Sonar Solutions Engineering team is dedicated to helping our prospective customers achieve technical success with our products. This is your chance to join a growing team as we scale up our efforts to have maximum impact on our targeted customer base.

As a Solutions Engineer at Sonar, you’ll play a central role in providing deep technical expertise to our prospects and supporting them in evaluating our solution. The SE team works as part of the Sales process and also engages with Marketing, Product Management, and Development teams to provide feedback on our products' evolution and messaging.

What You Will Do Daily:

  • Internal Alignment & Proactive Partner Enablement: Aligning with their sales counterpart, the Partner Manager. They review the partner pipeline, discuss any technical roadblocks partners are facing in current deals, and strategize on which partners need focused technical enablement in the coming weeks. This ensures that technical and sales efforts are perfectly in sync.
  • Partner Enablement Session: This is a core activity. The PSE leads a virtual and in-person technical training session for partners. This could include deep dives into the latest product release, new API endpoints, and integration best practices. The goal is self-sufficiency: coaching the partner's team on how to deliver effective product demonstrations and handle common technical objections themselves.
  • Deal Support & Strategy: The PSE works with partner's Solutions Engineer on qualification and evaluation of Sonar products. The PSE acts as an "expert resource," helping the partner's SE architect a tailored solution, anticipate complex technical questions, and position the joint value proposition effectively. You aren't leading the customer call, but you are ensuring the partner is perfectly prepared to do so.
  • Asset Creation & Focused Work: Developing Scalable Resources to avoid answering the same questions repeatedly, the PSE dedicates time to creating reusable assets for the entire partner network. This could involve writing a standardized demo script, building a code sample for a common integration, or recording a short video tutorial on a complex feature. This work is crucial for scaling their impact. Monitoring Partner Engagement to ensure partners are staying on top of their learning; it may be necessary to manage and evangelise certification and badging programmes.
  • Strategic Initiatives & Internal Feedback: Joint Solution Design with a Technology Partner. The PSE meets with engineers from a technology partner company to architect a new integration. This is a highly strategic and technical discussion requiring a deep understanding of both products, defining the scope of the integration, and building a business case for why it will create shared value. This involves mapping the partner's value chain and identifying growth opportunities. Internal Feedback Loop with Product Management. The PSE acts as the voice of the partner ecosystem to the internal product team. They consolidate feedback gathered from several partners about a missing feature that is creating friction in their sales cycles. They present this feedback with specific use cases, helping the product manager understand the business impact and prioritise the request on the roadmap. Planning & Follow-up: Documenting action items from meetings, sending follow-up resources to the partners they have trained and maintaining the Partner Enablement Plan.

The Experience You Will Need:

  • Some practical experience in software development or DevOps engineering highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with both local and cloud-based software deployment platforms and technologies, including Linux, Windows, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure.
  • Passion for technology and successful customer outcomes.
  • Ability to dive into complex technical problems, perform troubleshooting, develop solutions, and articulate them in verbal and written form.
  • Proven ability to work in a team, receiving and giving feedback as well as sharing knowledge.
  • A can-do attitude: challenging the status quo, leading and contributing to key improvements and innovations.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent English, verbal/written communication skills.
  • Additional languages - German, Spanish, and French are highly desirable.

We value people skills as much as technical skills and strive to keep things friendly while still being passionate leaders in our domains. In an ever-changing industry, new skills are necessary, and we're happy to help our team acquire them. As the leader in our field, our products and services are as strong as our internal team members. We embrace transparency with regular meetings, cascading messages, and updates on the growth and success of our organization.
