Are you looking for your next opportunity? Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Vice President, HR Business Partner in our Human Resources team. The VP, HR Business Partner is a senior, high-impact role responsible for shaping and delivering the human capital strategy in support of assigned client groups. This role operates as a strategic advisor to leaders and their teams, ensuring alignment between business objectives and talent outcomes, and partners, supports, and influences the business with key HR decisions and processes including organizational design, performance management, talent acquisition and management, employee relations, compensation, engagement and inclusion.

What you’ll be doing:
- Strategic Consulting: Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, translating business strategy to actionable people priorities.
- Relationship Management: Develop and maintain positive and professional working relationships with leaders, employees and colleagues; cultivate leadership and ethical values in self and others through modeling and coaching.
- Data Judgment: Understand and utilize suite of HR and company tools and systems to help drive data-driven decision making and insights.
- Solutioning: While the role is fundamentally strategic, it is also expected to operate close to the business and the work. This includes engaging in and guiding key tactical activities alongside both clients and HR colleagues to ensure business support is grounded in executive and day-to-day delivery aligns with broader organizational programs and direction.
- Global Acumen: This role applies a global mindset to owning and shaping the HR deliverables and may require shaping HR actions on a regional, country or global basis. Partners closely with HR colleagues to ensure coordinated delivery.
- Coaching: Provides leadership, direction and prioritization to a team of HR professionals, which may include HRBPs and/or advisors, who may be operating in direct, dual or matrix operating environments. Provides guidance to assigned client group on people related issues.
What You’ll Bring:
- 10+ years of experience in Human Resources roles with a key focus in HR Business Partnering with senior executives.
- Experience in leading strategic projects for the HR function in a growth and change environment.
- Significant (minimum of 7 years) experience of working in the P&C Insurance Industry in the UK.
- Knowledge of and track record of successful application of HR disciplines such as talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and performance management consistent with working with senior leaders.
- Experience operating in broad regional or global environments.
- Communication and problem-solving skills commensurate with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Experience of deputizing for the HR Leadership role.
- Proven experience drafting Board, ExCo and senior leadership papers, with the ability to synthesize complex HR, workforce and organisational matters into clear narratives, recommendations and decision points.
- Supervisory or management experience preferred.
