Sompo has a unique opportunity for an Underwriter in our Corporate Property team in our UK Property & Casualty business. Our Corporate Property team write large commercial risks across the UK and International markets. Our clients present challenging and complex risks often with multinational requirements. Sompo have the capabilities to participate as both a lead or follow market and we work across our network of brokers to secure long term partnerships with our target customers. This opportunity sits within our International Property segment.

What you’ll be doing:
- Handling renewal and new business within agreed parameters for large complex International Property accounts as both a lead and follow insurer.
- Analysis of information for underwriting purposes, specifically regarding account pricing, engineering overviews and account performance analysis.
- Attend client presentations and meetings, with travel when required.
- Adherence to all financial, legal, regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Liaising with insurance and reinsurance brokers, with full client engagement.
- Ad-hoc tasks & projects.
What You’ll Bring:
- Minimum 2 years Property underwriting experience within the London market.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a team-oriented approach.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
- ACII or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
- Ability to organise efficiently.
- Comprehensive computer skills, including Microsoft Office Excel etc.
