Are you looking for your next opportunity? Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Project Assistant. Part of the UK IT Team, the Project Assistant supports the UK CIO and the Product/Project Management team in the coordination and delivery of IT projects, adhering to the Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies. The role focuses on enabling the smooth execution of projects and ensuring effective project governance, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication.

What you’ll be doing:
- Provide administrative and coordination support across multiple IT projects
- Assist Product Managers and the CIO with planning, tracking, and reporting of delivery milestones
- Maintain project documentation such as Status Reports, RAID logs, action trackers, and various governance artefacts
- Support PMLC and SDLC activities including requirements tracking, sprint preparation, testing coordination, and release readiness
- Prepare materials for steering committees, and project forums
- Coordinate meetings, capture actions, and follow up on deliverables across teams and vendors
- Help monitor project timelines, dependencies, and risks to support successful delivery
- Keep abreast of changes to project management methodology with IT PMO and ensure implementation of changes
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in project coordination or administrative support within IT projects or similar environments.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Familiarity with PMLC and SDLC methodologies, including project initiation, sprint preparation, testing coordination, and release readiness.
- Proficiency in maintaining project documentation, RAID logs, action trackers, and governance artefacts.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to prepare materials for steering committees and project forums.
- Ability to coordinate meetings, capture actions, and follow up on deliverables across teams and vendors.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changes in project management methodology introduced by IT PMO.
- Analytical mindset to monitor project timelines, dependencies, and risks, ensuring successful delivery.
