Are you looking for your next opportunity? Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Business Transformation Analyst to join UK Change and Transformation within our Insurance Operations team. This role will sit within our London and UK Regions COO function. The UK Change and Transformation team play a vital role in delivering improvements into those operational teams which support Underwriting, Claims and other support functions, whilst at the same time undertaking transformation activities with which to broaden, and better control the services provided by these teams.
This exciting opportunity will allow the incumbent to support the delivery of key change initiatives by working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and delivery colleagues to analyse business needs, improve processes, and help implement solutions aligned to Sompo’s strategic goals. In today’s environment, the role also requires a modern analytical toolkit, including the ability to work confidently with data, use collaboration platforms effectively, and apply AI-enabled tools appropriately to improve the quality, speed, and effectiveness of analysis outputs. This role will play an important part in supporting business growth and strengthening the operational resilience of the services provided to Underwriting, Underwriting Operations, Claims, and UK Insurance supporting functions.

What you’ll be doing:
- We are seeking a forward-thinking Business Transformation Analyst to help shape the future of our Commercial Insurance business. This role goes beyond traditional requirements gathering and documentation. The successful candidate will act as a problem solver, change catalyst and strategic thinker, combining business knowledge, data analysis, emerging technology and stakeholder engagement to identify opportunities, drive innovation and deliver meaningful business outcomes.
- Working across Underwriting, Claims, Pricing, Operations, Distribution and Technology, you will help modernise how we operate, leveraging data, automation and AI to improve customer, broker and employee experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Analysis & Problem Solving
- Analyse end-to-end business processes, operating models and customer journeys.
- Identify business challenges, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Challenge existing ways of working and propose innovative solutions.
- Translate complex business problems into actionable recommendations.
- Apply systems thinking to understand upstream and downstream impacts of change.
- Data & Analytics
- Use data to identify trends, root causes, risks and opportunities.
- Work with data visualisation and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar platforms.
- Develop hypotheses and recommendations supported by quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Partner with data teams to define metrics, dashboards and business performance indicators.
- Technology & AI Enablement
- Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to improve analysis, delivery and decision making.
- Utilise tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor and other AI-enabled platforms.
- Support identification of automation, workflow and digital opportunities.
- Actively explore how GenAI can enhance underwriting, claims and operational processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted relationships across business and technology teams.
- Facilitate workshops, problem-solving sessions and design thinking activities.
- Influence stakeholders through evidence-based recommendations.
- Communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Change & Delivery
- Support delivery of transformation initiatives from idea through implementation.
- Assist with business case development, benefit identification and outcome tracking.
- Contribute to business readiness, process design and operating model evolution.
- Industry & Market Insight
- Monitor emerging trends across the London Market and Commercial Insurance sector.
- Understand developments in underwriting, claims, pricing, delegated authority, digital distribution and regulatory change.
- Bring external market perspectives and leading practices into transformation initiatives.
Skills & Experience:
- 5–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the insurance industry or related sectors.
- Commercial Insurance Knowledge
- Experience in one or more of:
- Underwriting Workbench platforms
- Claims modernisation programmes
