Are you looking for your next opportunity? Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Regional Security Manager EMEA within our Global Security Team. Sompo’s Global Security Program is embedded within the Global Real Estate, Facilities Management and Business Continuity team. It delivers expert physical security and emergency preparedness risk mitigation services to the firm. We protect the people, assets, facilities, and reputation of the organization. What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist the VP with the development and execution of emergency preparedness and security programs and new initiatives within the EMEA region.
  • Oversee physical security measures such as access control, surveillance systems, emergency response planning, and crisis management protocols to safeguard personnel and assets.
  • Demonstrate a hands-on approach to access system and video surveillance database administration management for regional offices.
  • Disseminate information and security intelligence to stakeholders, as appropriate, in furtherance of ensuring protective security for the firm.
  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise-wide security policies and procedures to ensure the physical protection of employees, physical facilities, and confidential information, including data assets and intellectual property.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability analyses, and threat intelligence reviews for EMEA offices and operations; develop mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
  • Partner with IT and cybersecurity teams to protect sensitive data through measures like encryption, access controls, and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA where applicable).
  • Work collaboratively with various business units (e.g., operations, HR, legal, and regional teams) to integrate security best practices into daily workflows; deliver tailored security awareness training programs, workshops, and simulations to foster a culture of vigilance.
  • Lead investigations into security incidents, breaches, or threats; coordinate with law enforcement, external vendors, and internal stakeholders as needed; prepare post-incident reports and recommendations.
  • Travel to international locations to conduct site audits, train local teams, and support security during events, mergers, or expansions.
  • Evaluate and manage third-party security vendors, including those for guarding services, technology solutions, and travel security.
  • Collaborate effectively with commercial building landlords and contract security providers to ensure aligned office security for Sompo tenant populations.
  • Stay abreast of emerging security threats, technologies, and best practices; recommend enhancements to keep Sompo International's security framework resilient and forward-thinking.

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum of 5 years in corporate security, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or related global multinational environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in protecting employees and facilities is required.
  • Strong knowledge of physical security systems (e.g., CCTV, access controls, perimeter protection).
  • Higher education is desirable but law enforcement or military service experience may substitute.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP - Certified Protection Professional or PSP - Physical Security Professional) are preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 20%), including international destinations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and security-related software tools.
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
  • 5+ years' experience in a private sector corporate security role managing operational, physical, procedural, and security technology solutions.
  • Highly collaborative.
  • Experience with conducting physical security risk assessments.
  • Good understanding of best practice physical security standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and SharePoint or other document repositories.
  • Self-starter, resourceful, and a quick learner with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects/assignments simultaneously, while completing tasks accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional business units to implement security awareness initiatives and best practices, including training programs and policy development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels, including executive presentations and employee education.
  • Proficiency in WinPak, Genetec, and JCI product lines is preferable.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations, including crisis response and travel in diverse environments.
