The Business Development Analyst will play a pivotal role in the support and future development of the business by generating insights and identifying compelling opportunities & strategies based on analytics to the senior management leadership teams.Location: This position will be based out of our London office. We strive for collaboration which is why we offer a work environment where our employees thrive and develop long lasting careers.Our business, your impact, our opportunity:What you’ll be doing:Produce accurate, complete, appropriate and timely data sets for key stakeholdersProduce weekly, monthly and quarterly exception reports as well as ad hoc reports, performing analysis and identifying trends in data as well as external markets as requiredLiaising with key stakeholders within the underwriting teams to identify trends, challenges and reasoning behind the dataProvide Distribution team with a report each month on each strategic brokers data and commentary per line of businessWorking with our regional leadership team to develop system to ensure regular, consistent and accurate data is split between each officeLiaising with accounts on invoicing for each broker agreement and facility in placeFostering the Distribution / Underwriter relationship network and managing key stakeholdersEnsure the accuracy of data and system usage to allow effective data collation, capture, manipulation, forecasting and reportingHandling day-to-day business queries from Underwriters and BrokersLiaising with broker teams to understand the Sompo share of wallet and ranking on a quarterly basisRegular analysis of broker numbers and ensuring the accuracy and consistency of the dataWorking with each brokers pipeline tool to ensure Distribution and underwriting teams have the latest account listsAssessing global broker surveys and developing strategic plans to improve and enhance the Sompo proposition to the market across Underwriting & ClaimsReporting on broker relationship performance via various KPI metricsTo research and collect data to help Sompo develop and market their products and services, and consider data including consumer demographics, preferences, needs, or buying habitsWhat you’ll bring:Keen, motivated and a natural desire to learn and develop in the fieldA driven progressive mind-set and demonstrated perseverance to achieve resultsData analysis and visualisationData extraction from internal CRM, data warehouses or other databasesCustomer profiling and segmentationStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to build effective working relationships with all levels of the businessGood confidence with ability to communicate with conviction and listen activelyExcellent Microsoft Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint skillsGood attention to detail and a commitment to accuracyAbility to assist in developing innovative and pragmatic solutions to problemsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to see tasks through to conclusionAbility to work autonomously and within a teamDemonstrate organisational and time management expertiseDemonstrate service-oriented approach, enthusiastic, motivated, positive attitude, good initiative and a self-starterGeopolitical interest and/or background would be advantageous.Degree or equivalent qualification in numerate discipline eg.
