Job Description Are you looking for your next opportunity? Sompo has a unique opportunity for an Assistant Underwriter in our UK Property team within our UK Corporate Property business on a fixed-term contract. Our Corporate Property team handles large commercial risks across the UK and international markets. Our clients often present challenging and complex risks, sometimes with multinational requirements. Sompo can participate as both a lead and follow market, working closely with brokers to build long-term partnerships with our target customers. This position is based in our London office. Our business, your impact, our opportunity: What you’ll be doing: Support underwriters from risk submission through to binding, covering all aspects of the underwriting process. Respond promptly and professionally to mid-term questions from brokers and internal stakeholders, delivering first-class service within authority limits. Engage with brokers and external parties, including third-party providers, maintaining and developing strong working relationships. Contribute to underwriting service projects aimed at improving existing services. Maintain accurate risk, exposure, and premium accounting in the company’s policy administration and documentation systems. Assist with underwriting and modeling, including completing pricing models. Provide ad-hoc support to underwriting teams as needed. Prepare financial and other analyses to support the underwriting team.
