Are you looking for your next opportunity? Sompo has a unique opportunity for an Assistant Underwriter in our UK Regions Property team within our UK Commercial Lines business. Our Corporate Property team writes large commercial risks across the UK and international markets. Our clients often present challenging and complex risks with multinational requirements.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support underwriters from submission of a risk through to binding, covering all aspects of the underwriting process.
  • Respond to general mid-term questions from brokers and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner, providing first-class service within authority limits.
  • Interact with brokers and external parties, including third-party business providers, maintaining and developing good working relationships.
  • Contribute towards underwriting services projects aimed at improving existing services.
  • Maintain timely and accurate risk, exposure, and premium accounting in the company's policy administration and documentation systems.
  • Assist with underwriting/modeling by completing pricing models.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to underwriting teams as required.
  • Prepare financial and other analyses to support the underwriting team.

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum of 1 year Property Insurance experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills—articulate and influential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
  • Highly analytical with excellent logic and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
