Dinings SW3 is looking to recruit a Junior Sommelier or Sommelier to join our team. The successful candidate will have a background of service and hospitality and have some experience working with wines in a fine-dining/restaurant setting. Prior knowledge of wine and/or sake is beneficial to being successful for this role, with WSET Level 2 or 3 preferred (or CMS Introductory/ASI Level 1). You will be working as a part of a team of 3 sommeliers.
About us: Dinings SW3 is a 70-seat Japanese Izakaya-style restaurant in the heart of Chelsea that serves Japanese food with a focus on European ingredients and sustainability. We have a high-quality wine list of 200 references, mostly focussing on classic producers from the Old World with gems from the New World, as well as one of the largest sake lists in London, with many options by the glass. The wine list is always being updated, and we are proud to have been runner-up for the best UK wine list at the Star Wine List UK for 2 years running, as well as winning an Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator 2025.
What the role entails:
- Delivering outstanding service to our guests by recommending and serving wines, sakes and cocktails.
- Help maintain stock levels, assisting with deliveries.
- Helping conduct trainings for other members of staff when required.
- Maintaining a complete and up-to-date beverages list.
- Ensuring glassware for wine service is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Taking an interest in the food and service standards; rolling up your sleeves and helping other departments when required.
- Managing the cellar and wine storages, keeping them tidy, organised and hygienic.
- Assisting the Head Sommelier with stocktake.
- Being true to, and embodying, our values as a company.
