About the Role
Seeking a Chief of Staff to partner with the Chief Design Officer to drive the impact of Monzo’s Design team (Brand Design, Product Design, User Research) across the business, product, and brand. Role focuses on enabling design strategy, operationalizing processes, scaling design globally, leading talent development, and coordinating communication.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Chief Design Officer and design leaders to amplify design impact.
- Create efficient processes, program management, and clear narratives.
- Develop visibility systems for key work across the customer experience.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Product to align priorities.
- Operationalize the delivery of the brand with high efficiency, consistency and quality.
- Improve or build processes that support designers and researchers across squads.
- Champion the Monzo Design System and its adoption.
- Attract, retain and elevate world‑class design talent; build inclusive community.
- Identify skill gaps and create solutions through internal development or hiring.
- Level up onboarding materials, progression frameworks and support internal growth.
- Help develop AI tooling and ways of working in a fast‑moving environment.
- Set rituals to develop craft and community within the design org.
- Communicate design strategy and insights to leadership, external stakeholders and media.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong experience operationalizing design processes to enhance efficiency, consistency, and quality in a fast‑moving tech environment.
- Proven track record building and nurturing design disciplines such as Brand Design, Product Design, and User Research.
- Experience creating lightweight systems for cross‑functional visibility and asynchronous sharing.
