Role Description

SoMi Academy is seeking a Primary Music Small Ensemble Practitioner for an on-site role in Preston. This self-employed role involves leading small ensemble music sessions, delivering engaging and educational music experiences for primary school students. Responsibilities include planning and conducting rehearsals, guiding students in instrument performance, facilitating skill development, and collaborating with teachers to integrate music into the broader curriculum. The Practitioner will also ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters students’ musical growth.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Music Performance and Primary Music Education
• Passion for music and a commitment to inspiring young learners
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse young learners and educators
• Ability to work effectively on-site in a team-oriented environment
• Prior experience in teaching or working within a Primary School setting is an advantage
• Relevant certifications or degrees in Music or related fields are a plus
