We are looking for an experienced Joinery Estimator with a strong understanding of bespoke joinery and interior fit-out, who can translate technical drawings and specifications into accurate, competitive cost estimates. The ideal candidate will combine commercial awareness with practical manufacturing knowledge, working closely with our design, production, and project teams to deliver well-considered and buildable tenders.
About the Role
The Joinery Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for bespoke joinery, fit‑out, and manufacturing projects. The role involves analysing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to determine material, labour, and installation costs. The estimator works closely with the design, production, and project management teams to ensure that quotations reflect the practical requirements of manufacture and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender drawings, specifications, and scope of works for joinery packages.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labour, subcontractors, and installation.
- Measure quantities from drawings and specifications.
- Liaise with design and production teams to confirm manufacturing methods and buildability.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare and submit clear and structured tender returns.
- Identify risks, exclusions, and assumptions within the estimate.
- Attend internal tender review meetings.
- Support value engineering opportunities to improve project competitiveness.
- Maintain an organised record of tenders and estimating data.
- Assist project teams with cost information during project handover.
