About the Role
The Joinery Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for bespoke joinery, fit‑out, and manufacturing projects. The role involves analysing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to determine material, labour, and installation costs. The estimator works closely with the design, production, and project management teams to ensure that quotations reflect the practical requirements of manufacture and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender drawings, specifications, and scope of works for joinery packages.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labour, subcontractors, and installation.
- Measure quantities from drawings and specifications.
- Liaise with design and production teams to confirm manufacturing methods and buildability.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare and submit clear and structured tender returns.
- Identify risks, exclusions, and assumptions within the estimate.
- Attend internal tender review meetings.
- Support value engineering opportunities to improve project competitiveness.
- Maintain an organised record of tenders and estimating data.
- Assist project teams with cost information during project handover.
