We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 16–19 Tutor to join our curriculum team, supporting young people to achieve their full potential. In this role you will design and deliver engaging learning sessions that develop students’ English and maths understanding, enabling them to work towards a Level 2 Functional Skills qualification. You will also deliver an employability qualification that builds real transferable skills and collaborate with local employers to provide valuable workplace experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, teach and assess lessons in English, maths and employability, tailoring content to individual learning needs.
  • Support learners with EHCPs and additional support requirements, ensuring an inclusive learning environment.
  • Track and report student progress, preparing data for internal reviews and external qualification validation.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of teaching practice.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, equality and diversity in all activities.
  • Engage with parents, professionals and community partners to support learner success.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching 16–19 year olds, preferably in English, maths or employability.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to plan effectively and adapt to changing needs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high‑quality teaching, equality and safeguarding.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a curriculum team and to undertake curriculum development activities.
  • Good IT skills and experience using learning management systems (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Classroom).
