Overview
Medical Electronics is a busy department responsible for maintaining medical equipment throughout Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and across the County of Somerset. The department provides a comprehensive service carrying out the routine calibration, maintenance, repair and management of the Trust\\\’s Medical Equipment. This is a technical role within the team which supports all the clinical and various non-clinical departments and wards across the county within the team structure/role allocation. As a member of the Medical Electronics Team you will provide effective and economical management of Medical Equipment for the Trust, and community organisations for which it is responsible by fault finding, repair, overhaul, calibration, safety test and planned preventative maintenance. Work collaboratively on a day to day basis with the Medical Electronics team while building relations with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure service needs are met. The working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:00, with inclusion on the department\\\’s On Call rota following appropriate assessment.
Responsibilities
- Fault finding, repair, overhaul, calibration, safety testing and planned preventative maintenance of medical equipment.
- Provide effective and economical management of Medical Equipment for the Trust and community organisations as required.
- Collaborate daily with the Medical Electronics team and build productive working relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure service needs are met.
Qualifications
- Educated to HNC or Degree in Medical Electronics, Engineering, with knowledge and practical experience of servicing medical devices.
