We have 2 exciting opportunities to support the South West Larder Food Development Team as part of our New Product Development Team. These roles will work with our Senior Development Chefs, Culinary Delivery Lead and Central Production Kitchen Manager to support a range of offers, grab & go production, menu development, food innovations and trends and hospitality events. We require talented, creative and culinary experienced individuals to join the team.

Job Description
Operational Duties
- Assist in the development of culinary projects and creation of new menu items as agreed with managers.
- Support new unit openings within the business.
- Assist with hospitality and events, ensuring excellent attention to detail and high standards.
- Control financial targets whilst maximising commercial opportunities.
- Monitor food production and service standards in line with policy, addressing issues professionally and promptly.
- Ensure client expectations are consistently delivered and developed.
- Liaise with operational teams to build positive relationships with clients, associates and key stakeholders.
- Provide accurate and timely financial information to the finance team and operations manager.
- Maintain equipment in good working order and recommend renewal or replacement when required.
- Attend all health, safety, hygiene and environmental/sustainability training courses.
- Promote environmental and sustainability improvement initiatives.
Supervisory Duties
- Work with teams across the business to ensure successful delivery of food and service.
- Support recruitment, induction and development of team members.
- Implement strategic training and development plans, managing team conduct, behaviour, attendance and performance in accordance with company policies.
Health, Safety, Environmental and Service
- Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety legislation and company requirements.
- Organise ordering of raw materials, packaging, consumables and cleaning chemicals.
- Advise managers of planned maintenance, repairs and breakdowns.
- Investigate customer complaints, recommend corrective actions and analyse complaint trends with managers.
- Drive and support Zero Harm Culture.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Kitchen experience to sous chef level or equivalent.
- Food Safety Level 3 (hold or achieve within 6 months of appointment).
- ILM5 qualification or achievement within 12 months.
- Proven experience in recipe management and menu development.
- Food Science knowledge.
- Experience of Food Safety Management/HACCP systems operation.
- COSHH qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- Good general education and numeracy skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities.
- Understanding of enhanced security and vetting procedures for Nuclear New Build environments.
Desirable Qualifications
- City & Guilds 706/1 & 2, NVQ Level 3 or Commis Chef Level 3.
- Level 2 Health & Safety Qualification.
