Description: We’re looking for a highly organised, audience-focused designer to bring Somerset House’s campaigns, programme and brand to life across multiple formats and touchpoints. Working within the Marketing team, this role is responsible for adapting and rolling out campaign creative across digital, social, onsite and print channels - ensuring assets are audience-led, platform-appropriate, visually compelling and consistent with Somerset House’s evolving brand identity. The role will focus on translating existing brand systems and templates into high-performing, user-centric creative across a wide range of outputs, from paid social and organic assets to onsite interpretation, signage, posters, leaflets, presentations and digital marketing materials. You will work closely with Marketing Managers and Social Media Team to deliver clear, engaging and effective creative that supports audience growth, campaign performance and visitor engagement.
What we are looking for:
- Creative Rollout & Adaptation: Adapt brand templates across a wide range of digital and print campaign formats. Ensure all creative outputs are optimised for their intended audience, user behaviour and platform. Produce creative assets for:
- Paid social
- Organic social media
- Presentation and stakeholder materials
- Leaflets and printed collateral
- Offline media
- Audience & User-Centred Design: Apply audience-first thinking to creative execution, ensuring designs are clear, accessible, engaging and easy to navigate. Design with consideration for user journeys, readability, hierarchy, accessibility and platform best practice. Translate complex or artistic subject matter into visually engaging and audience-friendly communications. Support the creation of assets that improve awareness, consideration and engagement across Somerset House’s programme.
- Content Management & Workflow: Maintain efficient workflows and project management across multiple concurrent campaigns, priorities and deadlines. Ensure all assets meet technical specifications and delivery requirements across social, digital and paid media channels. Prepare artwork and final files for both digital and print production. Manage multiple asset versions, specifications and formats across channels. Ensure creative is delivered accurately, efficiently and on schedule.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Marketing, Social Media, Visitor Experience and Press teams to deliver campaign requirements. Respond to fast-moving campaign needs and multiple project timelines simultaneously. Work with external partners, sponsors and agencies where required to adapt and implement co-branded assets.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- SKILLS: Experience working in a fast-paced in-house or agency creative environment. Strong portfolio demonstrating digital, campaign and multi-platform design work. Excellent understanding of layout, typography, hierarchy and audience-focused communication. Experience adapting creative across multiple formats and channels. Strong knowledge of social media and digital platform specifications and best practices. Experience working with established brand systems and templates. Ability to balance creativity with clarity, usability and campaign effectiveness. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent attention to detail.
- EXPERIENCE: Strong understanding of platform algorithms, audience behaviours and social media best practice. Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly:
- Photoshop
- Illustrator
- InDesign
- After Effects (desirable)
- Experience preparing files for both digital and print production. Understanding of motion, animation or lightweight video adaptation is desirable. Understanding of accessible design principles across digital and print formats. Awareness of readability, hierarchy, navigation and user experience considerations in design. Ability to create creative that is inclusive and easy to engage with for broad audiences.
