Job Title : Performance Psychology Lead (Men & Women) Reports to : Director of Cricket Responsible for: Academy Psychologist Contract : Permanent Hours : Min 32 hours per week (0.8 FTE) to include evenings weekends and bank holidays when required Salary :per annum Location : The Cooper Associates County Ground Taunton & Other Venues Closing date : 5 th November 2024 The Role Do you have extensive experience working in elite team sports delivering performance psychology and understand theimpact that psychology has on player development and the team performance Are you approachable empathetic and reflective with the ability to positively influence a variety of stakeholders Can you work collaboratively and strive for excellence in everything you do If the answer is yes to these questions we would love to hear from you. A new exciting opportunity has arisen at Somerset County Cricket Club to join our Professional Cricket department. We are looking to recruit a Performance Psychology Lead. You will provide comprehensive performance psychology support across Somerset CCC Mens and Womens cricket programmes enhancing players mental resilience performance and overall wellbeing. Youll also provide strategic oversight practical delivery and collaborate with coaches support staff and external partners to ensure psychological aspects are seamlessly integrated into all training and development programmes. Amongst other essential criteria youll need to have a current registration with the HCPC as a Sports and Exercise Psychologist. Youll have extensive experience working in elite team sport including major tournaments and events and significant experience working within a multidisciplinary team and delivering both group and individual work. You will have experience delivering performance psychology and leading initiatives related to performance psychology and culture within elite sporting pathways. Alongside this you will have training in psychology profiling tools and expertise in brain development and its role in player development and evaluation of talent. To thrive in this role youll be approachable reflective and empathetic with the ability to positively influence a variety of stakeholders. You will have excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working. Youll maintain high professional standards and have a drive for excellence in everything you do. Given the nature of the role any appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. If no ECB DBS is already in place this check will be carried out by the Club.
