McBride Sport are supporting Somerset Cricket Foundation (SCF) in their search for a new Managing Director. The Managing Director, along with a dedicated staff supported by a board of trustees with expertise in different areas, runs a charity that the ECB regard as a leading organisation in safeguarding, schools’ delivery, cricket workforce, disability playing offer, and facilities operations. Whether children, youth, or adults, the breadth and range of programmes facilitated and delivered is extraordinary and developing.
In striving to build sustainable and impactful opportunities and outcomes, SCF use cricket as a vehicle for improving people’s lives. With a mantra of collaborative working, SCF take pride in their relationships with Somerset County Cricket Club, local delivery partners, established partnerships of the ECB, Chance to Shine, and the Lords Taverners, as well as an increasing number of local and regional sponsors and donors with whom they develop specific targeted and measurable programmes in the community.
The Managing Director will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring it delivers meaningful and measurable impact through cricket across communities in Somerset. The successful candidate will drive the development of a sustainable, inclusive, and impactful charity that uses cricket to change lives. A key focus of the role is to enhance the Foundation’s governance, diversify income generation, develop new revenue streams, and embed robust impact measurement and performance monitoring practices across all programmes.

Candidates will ideally have strategic leadership experience within the charity or community sport sector along with a track record of developing and diversifying income streams, including grant funding, partnerships, and commercial initiatives. This will be coupled with financial literacy, including budget setting and financial reporting, comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding and its application in community and youth settings, and high-level stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
