Arborist

Join to apply for the Arborist role at Somerset Council.

This is a 37 hours per week role, Monday to Friday, working throughout the county and based at one of our depots in Wellington, Yeovil or Glastonbury.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking of all arboriculture operations including climbing, felling, planting and operating a MEWP.
• Use of hand tools, powered hand tools and climbing equipment
• Driving a company vehicle up to 3.5t and trailer
• Complete paperwork / online forms as required

Qualifications & Experience

• Hold a full driving licence
• Have experience of Grounds operations
• Experience of using appropriate equipment e.g. MEWP, climbing harnesses and chainsaws
• Must have qualifications: CS30 Chainsaw, cross cut maintenance, CS31 Felling, CS38 climbing and aerial rescue, CS39 working with chainsaw in a tree
• Desirable qualifications: MEWP, chipper, stump grinder, First Aid and Chapter 8 signing, lighting and guarding
• Able to work as part of a team
• Used to working outdoors
