What you’ll be doing:
- The Handyperson role includes the general upkeep of our garden areas, carrying out all general inspections, repairs and maintenance and complying with our Health & Safety policies.
- Carry out regular water flushing throughout the home to ensure water hygiene standards are maintained and any discrepancies are recorded and reported.
- Carry out regular water temperature checks to ensure water does not present a scalding risk to service users.
- Carry out regular checks on the homes fire systems, complete the Fire Log Book and report any faults.
- Carry out regular checks on window restrictors and clean windows as required.
- Carry out regular checks on wheelchairs.
- Carry out regular checks on ladders.
- Carry out regular checks on electric beds as required.
- Change light bulbs and tubes with appropriate replacements and clean light fittings as required.
- Complete minor repairs e.g. tap washers, repairs to furniture, unblocking a sink.
- Undertake minor decorating tasks within the home including putting up shelves, pictures etc.
- Assist in periodic cleaning duties e.g. high level, cooker hoods, filters, vents or garden furniture.
- Liaise with contractors when on the premises.
