A Health Care Assistant is our most essential role and involves:
- Supporting our customers by accompanying them to appointments, shopping, and helping with daily routines including washing, dressing and personal care.
- Providing companionship and making someone’s day that little bit easier.
- Undertaking a key worker role, building special relationships with the customer and developing extended relationships with their families and friends.
- Understanding the care plan in place to support the customers we look after and contributing to the reviewing of plans as directed.
- Keeping clear and accurate computerized records of the care and support provided.
- Ensuring our customers have eaten and are drinking enough to remain as healthy as possible.
- Encouraging the customers to take part in activities organised by the Activities Co-ordinator and provide one-to-one support.
- Supporting customers in order to improve health and wellbeing in order to maintain contact with family and friends e.g. skype, internet.
- Undertaking practical duties where necessary including cleaning, laundry and helping customers maintain their social and occupational skills e.g. letter writing, folding clothes and laying tables.
- Working with the team around you to raise any concerns you have regarding our customers.
What You’ll Need:
- At least 1 year’s experience in a residential care setting within the last 3 years
- A full driving licence and access to own vehicle
- Access to a smartphone (iOS or Android)
- Availability to work a minimum of one shift per month
- Evidence of your right to work in the UK
- A CV detailing your full work history, including any gaps
