Job Overview

Somercotes Infants School are seeking a calm and caring 1:1 SEND teaching assistant to join our nurturing team within our outstanding EYFS classroom as part of our inclusive school. The role is advertised from 9.00 – 2.30, 5 days per week, working in our Reception classroom. There may also be the opportunity for additional hours for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of our inclusive team within the EYFS phase.
  • Assist the 1:1 SEND child in following their specific timetable.
  • Support the child in their academic and wider personal development.
  • Provide a calm, caring presence and support for the child throughout the day.

Requirements

  • Experience working with SEND children is preferred, but not required.
  • Must be willing to work 9.00 – 2.30, 5 days a week.
  • Must be willing to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
  • Possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from being considered; all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role.
