Somerce is a TikTok Shop and live commerce agency working with 70+ global brands across three service lines: ShopOps, Live and Content. We've grown fast, and we're going to keep growing. The thing that makes that work, or breaks it, is the team. So this is the role we care about most.
We're not hiring a traditional HR person. We're hiring someone who treats culture as the product. Someone whose job is to build winning teams and make Somerce the best place these people will ever work. The admin, the contracts, the compliance, all of that has to be done properly, but it's the floor, not the ceiling. The real job is people who do their best work here, stay, grow, and tell their friends to join.
If you light up at the idea of owning recruitment, the people function and the culture all at once, and you'd be bored stiff in a box-ticking HR seat, keep reading.
What you will own:- Recruitment and talent. End to end. Finding brilliant people, selling them on Somerce, running a hiring process that feels sharp and human, and getting the right people through the door faster than anyone expects. You'll build the talent pipeline before we need it, not after.
- The people function. Onboarding, contracts, the day-to-day of running a growing team well. Performance frameworks, 1:1 systems, progression paths, the hard conversations when they're needed. You'll make the boring stuff invisible because it just works.
- Culture and happiness. The actual point of the role. You'll set the tone for how it feels to work here, design the rituals and moments that make a team, spot problems before they spread, and protect the energy as we scale. You'll know everyone's name and what's going on in their world. When someone's thriving you'll know why. When someone's struggling you'll know first.
- Leadership. You'll sit close to the founder and leadership team, you'll have a real seat at the table, and you'll be expected to push back, challenge, and tell us the truth about our own culture even when it's uncomfortable.
- You've built or shaped culture inside a fast-growing business, ideally an agency, startup or scale-up where things move quickly and nothing sits still.
- You're a genuinely strong recruiter. You can spot talent, sell a vision, and close people.
- You understand the people-ops fundamentals (employment basics, contracts, performance, the legal floor) well enough to run them properly and know when to bring in specialists.
- You have the judgement and EQ to handle sensitive situations with discretion and a level head.
- You're high energy, low ego, and allergic to corporate fluff. You'd rather do the real thing than write a policy about it.
- You believe great things happen when people are in a room together, and you want to be in ours.
- You hold a high bar and you raise the people around you to meet it.
- 28 days holidays + bank holidays
- 10 days work from anywhere
- £50 gym membership contribution
- Competitive packages - bonus scheme & share options
