The Digital Marketing Manager will work across our artist roster. The role sits across online strategy, content creation and community building for our roster of artists. You’ll help shape how our artists exist online — planning campaigns, growing audiences across socials and CRM and turning attention into long-term fan engagement and ultimately conversion across streaming and physical products. You’ll work closely with the label team across marketing and A&R, as well as our artists, their management and external partners to deliver thoughtful, culturally aware digital campaigns. You’ll review what’s working and report regularly to the team, taking a view on how to improve our results.
The role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Be the brains behind the social media and community building strategy for our artists and the label’s channels, working with the marketing team on artists’ positioning, tone of voice, content pillars and campaign planning, and you’ll be responsible for how that all translates online.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of social platforms for our artists and the label, helping to define which platforms are relevant for each artist’s strategy and narrative.
- Create and maintain content calendars and be responsible for ensuring we stick to them.
- Develop CRM strategy and execution across email and SMS to support fan growth and retention.
- Work with the marketing team to make sure that the label thinks of community holistically, enmeshing real world activations with online amplification on socials and Discord channels.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to help oversee and implement influencer marketing campaigns, either directly or with agencies.
- Partner with the marketing team to brief external agencies on digital advertising, providing insights from organic performance.
- Analyse campaign performance and audience behaviour to deliver insights and actionable next steps.
- Connect daily with artists, their teams and the Some Action team to formulate and deliver your strategies, in line with an artist’s identity and what engages their audience.
- Build on your strong relationships with creative agencies, creators and any new entrants to the industry, to ensure the label is across the latest tools and opportunities.
- Work to bring new artists to the label.
Qualifications:
- You love music & creativity, and you’ve embedded yourself in music culture, whether that’s as a musician, fan, creator etc.
- 3-5 years experience in digital marketing or social media management within the music industry (label, mgmt. or agency), with an understanding of how artists succeed today and an empathic view of the burden socials can place on artists.
- Ideally you have experience of CRM tools and you’ve worked with external paid media agencies.
- Basic editing or creative production skills are a definite plus.
- You live online, spotting sounds before they trend and trends before they fly, with a fluency across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Discord, X, Threads, Twitch and any other platforms you think are important to build an engaged audience, with an understanding of the cultural nuances and narrative strengths of each platform.
- You combine bigger picture creativity with detailed data literacy, able to think analytically to turn data into actionable insights, strategy and ideas.
- You’re commercially minded too, with a focus on how reach can lead to audience growth, fandom and ultimately conversion.
- You’ll be aware that the digital landscape is changing rapidly, and you’ll be excited to work out where things might be headed and to help us be at the forefront of that change.
- You’ll stay current with platform shifts, online culture and emerging digital behaviour and identify opportunities.
- You enjoy working in a team, bouncing ideas off other people, with an eagerness to learn as well as having a point of view.
- You communicate clearly with both internal and external stakeholders, with experience working alongside artists and their teams, freelancers, creators and agencies.
- In an ever-changing environment you know that the only way to stay relevant is to keep learning and we’ll support you as you grow.
- You keep yourself organised across multiple campaigns, you’ll sweat the small stuff and you manage your time effectively with an eye on what to prioritise.
- We’re a small team with a start-up culture, and we need someone who’s not afraid to get their hands dirty.
- You’ll be proactive in noticing what needs doing and keen to figure it out before being asked.
- You’re comfortable in a fast-paced environment with proven experience working with artists and their teams to drive audience growth.
