We are looking for an experienced Senior Front End Developer to take ownership of our front-end codebase and play a key role in developing high-quality, accessible and high-performing digital products. You will work closely with Product Managers, Designers and Back-End Developers to deliver new features, improve existing components and help shape front-end development standards. You will also take ownership of the front-end build pipeline, performance optimisation and our design system.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the front-end codebase, including maintaining, refactoring and extending UI components.
- Develop pixel-perfect, accessible and responsive user interfaces from design specifications.
- Lead front-end build and deployment processes, including build configuration and production optimisation.
- Champion accessibility, working to WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
- Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
- Develop and maintain automated component and end-to-end tests using appropriate testing tools.
- Conduct peer code reviews and help improve development standards and component architecture.
- Collaborate with back-end developers on API integration and data-fetching approaches.
- Monitor and optimise front-end performance, including Core Web Vitals, bundle size, lazy loading and rendering.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of the product's design system and component library.
- Work with an external development team during a structured knowledge transfer period, ensuring a smooth transition of technical knowledge and ownership.
