We are seeking a Senior FIX Protocol Developer to join a Front Office Market Connectivity team supporting Power and Gas trading. This role is focused on designing, building, and maintaining FIX‑based connectivity to exchanges, brokers, and counterparties, rather than purely trading applications. The ideal candidate will be a FIX protocol expert with strong C#/.NET development skills, deep understanding of electronic market connectivity, and direct experience working in Front Office environments. Highly desirable candidates will have contributed to, or authored components of, the QuickFIX open‑source project, demonstrating strong protocol‑level expertise and engineering rigor.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain FIX‑based market connectivity solutions for Front Office trading systems
- Build and enhance exchange, broker, and counterparty connectivity using FIX protocol
- Implement FIX session management, order lifecycle handling, custom tags, and extensions
- Optimize connectivity for low latency, high throughput, and high availability
- Work closely with traders, connectivity teams, and infrastructure to deliver resilient solutions
- Own and support connectivity components in production, including troubleshooting and incident resolution
- 8+ years of experience in electronic trading or market connectivity development
- Expert‑level knowledge of FIX protocol, including session management and message flows
- Authored or contributed to the QuickFIX open‑source project
- Deep experience with FIX engines such as QuickFIX or similar frameworks
- Strong hands‑on experience with C#/.NET
- Solid experience building and supporting market connectivity (exchanges, brokers, gateways, adapters)
- Direct exposure to Power and Gas trading markets
- Strong understanding of trading workflows, market structure, and connectivity architectures
