We’re supporting a leading organisation at the forefront of the UK’s EV infrastructure expansion, delivering a growing network of high-powered charging hubs across major motorway routes. With significant investment and expansion plans, they are now seeking a Grid Planning Engineer to play a pivotal role in enabling future growth.
The Opportunity
This is a key technical position responsible for planning and coordinating grid connections to support EV charging infrastructure, renewable integration, and wider site expansion projects across a national portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess grid capacity and develop connection strategies
- Liaise with DNOs and National Grid to secure and manage connections
- Design electrical infrastructure for new and existing sites
- Support EV charging and renewable energy integration projects
- Provide technical input into feasibility, planning and construction
- Ensure compliance with UK energy regulations and safety standards
- Act as technical lead with internal and external stakeholders
About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or similar
- Proven experience in grid planning or energy infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of UK electricity networks and DNO processes
- Experience with EV charging or renewables desirable
- Strong analytical, project management and stakeholder engagement skills
