We are looking for an experienced Robotics Engineer with hands-on experience in ABB robotic systems, particularly IRC5 controllers and RobotStudio, to contribute to innovative industrial automation projects across the UK.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using ABB robots (primarily IRC5-based systems).
- Oversee on-site installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of robotic cells.
- Program, simulate, and refine robotic operations using ABB RobotStudio.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Integrate robots with PLCs, vision systems, sensors, and wider automation equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations at all times.
- Produce and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation.
- Provide training, technical guidance, and ongoing support to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost automation efficiency and manufacturing performance.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree or diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience with ABB robotic systems.
- Strong knowledge of IRC5 controller architecture.
- Strong proficiency in ABB RAPID programming and RobotStudio offline programming.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
