Impact You’ll Make in this Role
- Participate as a leader in the development and delivery of Solventum’s new Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) and Clinical Coding Audit service line, ensuring compliance with NHS Digital’s Clinical Coding Audit Methodology and Code of Conduct.
- Undertake and oversee high-quality audits of clinically coded data, providing expert analysis, reporting, and recommendations to improve data accuracy, coding quality, and documentation integrity.
- Develop and build a team of clinical and clinical coding professionals to establish and expand Solventum’s consultancy services across the UK, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Drive and oversee consultancy engagements of medium to large scale and high business impact, ensuring timely delivery, quality outcomes, and alignment with Consulting Services revenue goals.
- Provide education to coders, CDI and physicians around documentation and quality improvement opportunities.
- Provide subject matter expertise and education on ICD-10/OPCS-4 coding standards, HRG assignment, documentation improvement, compliance, and Solventum products and services — including training for coders, CDI specialists, and clinicians.
- Collaborate with NHS and private-sector clients, including hospital leadership, to design and implement effective consulting service projects that strengthen coding accuracy, revenue integrity, and clinical documentation practices.
- Support business development efforts across the United Kingdom by working with Solventum’s Sales and Consulting teams to scope new opportunities and present service offerings to potential clients.
- Maintain expert knowledge of National Clinical Coding Standards, HRG groupings, data quality frameworks, and data protection requirements, ensuring all work complies with NHS and Solventum governance standards.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution or 10 years of clinical experience in a hospital as a clinical coding auditor.
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
- NHS Digital Approved Clinical Coding Auditor and Accredited Clinical Coder (ACC) – National Clinical Coding Qualification (UK).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications, National Clinical Coding Standards, and HRG groupings.
- Proven experience in clinical coding and CDI audits, delivering high-quality work to tight deadlines.
- Deep understanding of clinical documentation, medical record coding, healthcare billing and revenue cycle management.
- Skilled communicator with strong presentation, report writing, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Previous public speaking experience and/or previous teaching experience.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

50-60% expected (normal business conditions). Role Location UK (home/field-based).
