Reporting to the Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO), the Head of Product will lead the company's product function, owning product strategy, prioritisation and execution across Solvace's portfolio of enterprise software products. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on product leadership. You will work closely with customers, Product Managers, Engineering and Data teams to ensure customer needs are translated into clear product outcomes and delivered effectively. A key focus of the role will be helping Solvace evolve into a more AI-enabled product organisation, identifying opportunities to embed AI and data-driven capabilities across the product portfolio while ensuring Product Managers have the skills, processes and technical understanding required to work effectively with customers and engineering teams. You will play a critical role in shaping product ways of working, improving prioritisation and delivery processes, and building a high-performing product function as the business continues to grow.
Key Priorities, Duties and Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Portfolio Management: Define and evolve the product vision and roadmap in partnership with the CPTO. Own prioritisation across a complex portfolio of products and modules, balancing customer needs, commercial impact and technical considerations. Work closely with Engineering and Data teams to identify opportunities to leverage AI and machine learning capabilities within products. Ensure product decisions are informed by customer feedback, usage data and business objectives. Translate company strategy into clear product priorities and delivery plans. Balance competing requirements from enterprise customers while maintaining a coherent product direction.
- Product Delivery & Execution: Lead product planning and delivery processes across the organisation. Establish and maintain effective product operating cadences, including roadmap reviews, prioritisation sessions and sprint planning processes. Partner closely with Engineering and Data teams to ensure effective delivery of product initiatives. Support Product Managers in defining requirements, writing clear product specifications and managing prioritisation decisions. Ensure customer requests and technical requirements are accurately translated between customers, product and engineering teams. Drive continuous improvement in product delivery processes and ways of working. Establish clear success measures and outcomes for product initiatives.
- Customer & Market Engagement: Develop deep relationships with strategic customers and key stakeholders. Participate in customer meetings, product reviews and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to gather feedback and understand customer challenges. Work closely with Customer Success teams to identify recurring customer needs, product gaps and improvement opportunities. Ensure customer issues and requests are effectively assessed, prioritised and communicated internally. Help Product Managers improve their ability to engage with customers and communicate product decisions effectively. Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies, particularly within AI and enterprise software.
- Product Team Leadership: Lead, coach and develop a team of Product Managers. Build stronger product management capability across the organisation. Improve the team's technical understanding and confidence when working with customers and engineering teams. Establish clear product management standards, processes and best practices. Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus and continuous learning. Support organisational evolution and future growth of the product function.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Customer Success, Engineering, Data, Sales and Marketing teams to align priorities and ensure successful product outcomes. Act as the primary point of coordination between product and other business functions. Communicate product priorities, progress and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders. Support the CPTO with investment decisions, roadmap planning and strategic product discussions. Ensure alignment between customer expectations, business priorities and delivery plans.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Significant experience in Product Management leadership roles within a rapidly scaling software or SaaS environment. Experience managing complex product portfolios with multiple products, modules or customer requirements. Proven track record of delivering customer-facing software products from concept through to launch and ongoing optimisation. Experience working closely with Engineering, Technology and Data teams. Experience engaging directly with enterprise customers and senior stakeholders.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of product management frameworks and best practices, agile delivery methodologies, product discovery and prioritisation techniques, data-driven product development, AI and machine learning concepts and how they can be applied to customer-facing products, translating customer needs into clear product requirements and delivery outcomes.
- Leadership: Strong people leadership and coaching capability. Experience developing Product Managers and improving product team effectiveness. Ability to influence stakeholders across technical and commercial functions. Comfortable operating in a hands-on environment where strategic thinking and execution are equally important. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Mindset: Customer-focused and outcome-oriented. Curious about AI, emerging technologies and product innovation. Comfortable managing complexity and competing priorities. Pragmatic, collaborative and delivery-focused. Willing to be hands-on and close to both customers and product execution.
