Role Description

The Exhibition Stand Detailer is a full-time, on-site role based in the West Midlands.

The role involves translating design concepts into detailed technical drawings and production-ready specifications for exhibition stands.

Day-to-day tasks include preparing accurate layouts, elevations, and construction details; coordinating with designers, project managers, and workshop teams; and ensuring all materials, measurements, and fixings are clearly documented.

The detailer will check drawings for accuracy, update revisions as projects progress, and support the build team with clear information to ensure stands are produced to a high standard and delivered on time.

The role also includes maintaining organized project files and adhering to health and safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical drawing and detailing skills, ideally with experience in joinery or exhibition stand construction.
  • Proficiency in CAD or similar drawing software (e. g., Auto CAD, Sketch Up, or equivalent) and confident use of MS Office tools.
  • Good understanding of materials, fixtures, and fabrication methods used in exhibition, retail, or interior fit-out environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret design briefs, architectural plans, and technical specifications with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with designers, project managers, and workshop teams.
  • Awareness of health and safety and basic structural considerations relevant to temporary structures and exhibition stands.
  • Previous experience in exhibition, events, shopfitting, or related industries is highly beneficial.
  • Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in design, drafting, or construction-related field is an advantage but not essential.
