Overview
We are looking for experienced SC Cleared Infrastructure Engineers / 3rd Line Server Engineers to support a large‑scale Windows & Linux server migration. This is a hands‑on Infrastructure Engineer role focused on server configuration, validating automation, troubleshooting issues, and supporting the new environment post‑migration.
Key Responsibilities
- Support migration of Windows & Linux servers to a new environment
- Validate automated migrations (Quest) and resolve any failures manually
- Migrate core services including Active Directory, DNS, file systems, and storage
- Troubleshoot and resolve OS‑level and migration issues
- Support application teams with integration and post‑migration stabilisation
- Configure environments for high availability, patching, backup, and monitoring
- Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies across the environment
- Support separation activities and ensure production readiness
- Maintain documentation and contribute to knowledge transfer
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or 3rd Line Server Engineer
- Active SC Clearance
- Strong Windows Server skills – Active Directory, DNS, GPO
- Strong Linux administration skills – RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu
- Proven large‑scale migration experience
- Experience with automation tools (e.g. Quest)
- Knowledge of HA, backup, monitoring, performance tuning
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Able to validate and challenge automation
- Confident working with application teams and stakeholders
