Good engineers should not lose time arriving at poorly surveyed jobs, chasing missing materials or trying to work out what has been promised to the customer. Solutions Plumbing & Heating has been operating across London and Surrey for 20 years. We are looking for an experienced Gas Safe engineer to build a reliable, long-term subcontract relationship with, not simply someone to fill a temporary gap. We survey and specify the work, supply the boiler and principal materials, manage the customer and provide a clear scope before the installation begins. Our office also handles quotations, scheduling, warranty registrations and ongoing customer aftercare. We do not aim to sell the cheapest possible installation or rush engineers through unsuitable workloads. We want the job completed properly, with enough communication between the surveyor, office and engineer to resolve anything unexpected.

We are particularly interested in an engineer based within London who can cover Central and North London, while also being willing to undertake work across South-West London and Surrey.

What you can expect from us:

  • Properly surveyed and organised installations
  • A clear scope and fixed labour price agreed before accepting each job
  • Boiler and principal installation materials supplied
  • Customer communication and administration handled by our office
  • Invoices received by Friday paid the following Friday
  • Planned work alongside occasional short-notice opportunities
  • Support when something unexpected is found on site
  • An established company interested in a long-term working relationship

We mainly install Worcester Bosch and Vaillant boilers. Work includes boiler swaps, conversions, relocations, system boilers and associated heating alterations.

We want to work with someone who:

  • Produces tidy, well-planned installations
  • Protects and respects customers’ homes
  • Communicates clearly and does not make assumptions
  • Offers technical input where there may be a better installation approach
  • Raises problems before undertaking unapproved additional work
  • Completes Benchmark records, commissioning information and job photographs
  • Stands behind their workmanship and attends confirmed workmanship-related callbacks
  • Has their own van, tools, calibrated analyser and insurance
  • Holds current Gas Safe registration and relevant ACS qualifications

We look after our customers after the installation and expect the engineer completing the work to share that sense of responsibility. Manufacturer faults and unrelated system issues are not treated as workmanship callbacks. Work is offered individually, with no guaranteed minimum volume. A fixed labour price is agreed for each installation before it is accepted.

To apply, please send:

  • Your location and usual working area
  • Gas Safe and relevant qualification details
  • Current availability
  • Your usual rates for boiler swaps, conversions and relocations
  • Photographs of two recent installations
  • A short explanation of how you would handle finding something on site that differs from the agreed specification

We are interested in how you work and communicate, not simply how many boilers you can fit.
