We're looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a well‑established and expanding Managed Services Provider in London. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, leading infrastructure projects, mentoring engineers, and working closely with a diverse client base. Previous MSP experience is desirable for this position.
The Role
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll act as a senior technical escalation point, bridging high‑level support with infrastructure project delivery. You'll take ownership of complex environments, provide technical leadership, and help deliver modern cloud and infrastructure solutions for a wide range of clients. This is a hybrid role offering excellent career progression, ongoing training, and the opportunity to work with the latest technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex 3rd Line infrastructure issues.
- Lead infrastructure projects including server migrations, Microsoft Azure deployments, virtualisation, and network upgrades.
- Design, implement and support secure, resilient IT infrastructures.
- Work directly with clients to deliver technical solutions and trusted advice.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote technical best practices across the team.
- Produce clear technical documentation and infrastructure recommendations.
- Ensure environments remain secure, compliant and aligned with industry best practices.
Technical Skills & Experience
We're looking for candidates with strong experience across most of the following:
- Previous experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP).
- Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
- Microsoft Azure, Azure AD, Virtual Machines and cloud infrastructure.
- VMware and/or Hyper‑V virtualisation.
- Networking including VLANs, TCP/IP, VPNs, routing and switching.
- Firewall technologies such as Fortinet, WatchGuard, Palo Alto or Juniper.
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions including Veeam, Cove or Acronis.
- Storage platforms including Synology and Dell PowerVault.
- Microsoft Defender, Sophos or other endpoint security platforms.
- Experience leading technical projects from planning through to completion.
- Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
