Location: Ideally Leeds based. Field role with regional travel.

Type: Full time, permanent: £20.00 per hour

Salary guide: £35,000 to £40,000 per year realistic, plus annual Christmas bonus (amount varies)

Hours: 37 hours per week. Lunch time is paid.

Holidays: 20 days plus bank holidays. Increases after 2 years.

Vehicle: Company car provided. Fuel, servicing and business costs covered.

Team: Join a 22-person engineering team with strong communication and ongoing upskilling.

Travel/overnights: Limited expectations to stay away. Occasional overnights when required.

Company snapshot: Well-established supplier with 20+ years in the market. Main office in Leeds. This role is field based, supporting a wide range of OEM press brake machines.

Role overview: Customer-facing engineer installing, commissioning, maintaining and repairing press brakes at client sites. Work spans mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control systems to keep machines safe, accurate and productive.

Key responsibilities:

  • Installation and commissioning: level and anchor, connect power and hydraulics, set backgauge axes, crowning and angle systems, run acceptance tests, train operators.
  • Diagnostics and repair: fault find electrical, hydraulic and motion issues. Replace or repair pumps, valves, cylinders, drives, encoders, ball screws, guarding. Recover controller faults and parameter issues.
  • Preventive maintenance: inspect hydraulics, filters, seals, lubrication, backgauge alignment and safety devices. Calibrate angles, crowning and axes.
  • Controls and software: set up and update Delem or Cybelec controllers. Backups, restorations, basic HMI edits and parameter changes.
  • Safety and compliance: test light curtains and laser guarding, e-stops and interlocks. Complete risk checks and documentation.
  • Customer support and reporting: advise on tooling, bend programs and best practice. Produce clear service reports, parts lists and follow-ups.
