Company snapshot: Well-established supplier with 20+ years in the market. Main office in Leeds. This role is field based, supporting a wide range of OEM press brake machines.
Role overview: Customer-facing engineer installing, commissioning, maintaining and repairing press brakes at client sites. Work spans mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control systems to keep machines safe, accurate and productive.
Key responsibilities:
- Installation and commissioning: level and anchor, connect power and hydraulics, set backgauge axes, crowning and angle systems, run acceptance tests, train operators.
- Diagnostics and repair: fault find electrical, hydraulic and motion issues. Replace or repair pumps, valves, cylinders, drives, encoders, ball screws, guarding. Recover controller faults and parameter issues.
- Preventive maintenance: inspect hydraulics, filters, seals, lubrication, backgauge alignment and safety devices. Calibrate angles, crowning and axes.
- Controls and software: set up and update Delem or Cybelec controllers. Backups, restorations, basic HMI edits and parameter changes.
- Safety and compliance: test light curtains and laser guarding, e-stops and interlocks. Complete risk checks and documentation.
- Customer support and reporting: advise on tooling, bend programs and best practice. Produce clear service reports, parts lists and follow-ups.
