Are you an experienced Mechanical Estimator looking to join a growing Building Services contractor working on exciting commercial and low‑carbon projects? Our client is a well‑established engineering business with over 20 years of experience delivering mechanical and electrical solutions across the commercial, industrial, education, housing and public sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Estimator to strengthen their pre‑construction team.
The Role
Working alongside the design and delivery teams, you'll prepare accurate and competitive estimates for a wide range of mechanical building services projects, helping secure new business while supporting the successful delivery of projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing detailed estimates and cost plans for mechanical building services projects
- Pricing HVAC, commercial heating, plumbing and plant room installations
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Producing tender submissions, cost breakdowns and financial forecasts
- Identifying value engineering and cost‑saving opportunities
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams
- Supporting commercial and project teams throughout the pre‑construction process
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience estimating mechanical building services projects
- Good knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and commercial heating systems
- Experience pricing commercial M&E installations
- Strong understanding of construction methods and cost control
- Proficient with Excel and estimating software (Trimble experience desirable)
- Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail
Package
- Salary up to circa £55,000
