Due to continued growth and increasing demand, they are looking to appoint two Mechanical Design Engineers to strengthen their experienced production design team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful, privately owned business that continues to invest in its people, products and facilities.
Working closely with the sales and production teams, you\'ll play a key role in transforming customer concepts into practical, cost-effective and fully manufacturable designs.
The successful candidate will be mechanically minded, commercially aware and confident managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves regular collaboration across several departments to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and accurately.
The Role
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs using Solid Works.
- Develop practical engineering solutions from customer requirements.
- Work closely with the sales team to support new business opportunities through effective design.
- Ensure all designs are practical, manufacturable and aligned with production capabilities.
- Provide technical support and assembly guidance to the production team.
- Manage multiple live design projects while meeting critical deadlines.
- Liaise with internal departments and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities to improve designs, reduce manufacturing costs and increase efficiency.
- Work within a structured, revision-controlled design environment.
- The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of 5 years\' commercial Solid Works experience.
- Strong mechanical design and technical drawing background.
- Excellent understanding of mechanical assembly and manufacturing processes.
- Experience working within revision-controlled engineering environments.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and prioritise workload effectively.
- Confident communicator with a collaborative approach.
- Practical, hands-on mindset with strong commercial awareness.
- Takes pride in producing high-quality work without ego.
- Experience in one or more of the following would be highly advantageous:
- Aluminium profile systems
- Tubular fabrication and welding
- Sheet metal design
- Timber construction
- Plastic fabrication
- Electrical or LED products
Package
- £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
