Operations Manager (Projects)

Salary - £60,000 - £80,000 (DOE) + 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Company car or car allowance, Mobile phone and laptop, Pension scheme + more

My client is a specialist BMS company delivering intelligent building controls, automation and energy management solutions across commercial, industrial and critical environments.

They are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the successful delivery of their project portfolio and lead the project delivery team.

The Role

  • Take overall responsibility for the operational delivery of BMS projects from initial handover through to completion.
  • Manage and support Project Managers, Project Engineers, Commissioning Engineers and subcontractors.
  • Oversee project programmes, resources, costs and quality to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Monitor project performance, margins and financial forecasts, identifying and addressing risks at an early stage.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, main contractors, consultants and key suppliers.
  • Provide technical and operational support on BMS projects, assisting with escalated issues where required.
  • Coordinate resource planning across multiple projects and ensure teams are appropriately allocated.
  • Review project processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with senior management on business planning, project strategy and future growth.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with company procedures, health & safety requirements and industry standards.

The Person

  • Strong background within BMS/BEMS project delivery, with proven experience in a senior operational or management position.
  • Good understanding of BMS controls, HVAC systems, commissioning and project lifecycles.
  • Previous experience managing technical teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commercially aware with experience monitoring budgets, margins and project performance.
  • Strong leadership, communication and client management skills.
  • Organised, proactive and confident making decisions in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Full UK driving licence.
