An established lighting solutions business is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to cover the South of the UK. This role suits a commercially driven professional who thrives on building long‑term relationships, particularly with contractors, and who is persistent, organised, and tenacious in closing opportunities.
The successful candidate will manage and grow both existing and new accounts, supporting clients through the full specification process across standard and bespoke LED lighting solutions. The role is remote, with travel across the region as required.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop strong, long‑term relationships with contractors, lighting designers, cost consultants, and other stakeholders
- Provide day‑to‑day support to existing clients to ensure continued product specification
- Actively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across the region
- Gather and manage all project information to ensure accurate quotations
- Work closely with internal sales, design engineers, and project teams to deliver solutions
- Manage projects and client interactions through CRM systems, ensuring follow‑ups are actioned
- Handle bespoke enquiries in line with internal processes
- Prepare and deliver professional product and solution presentations
- Contribute to achieving sales targets and improving overall profitability
Experience & Knowledge Required
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience within the lighting industry
- Strong background in the specification sector
- Extensive experience working with contractors and developing long‑term partnerships
- In‑depth knowledge of LED lighting, drivers, dimming protocols, and emergency lighting
- Confident using Office 365, CRM systems (Dynamics 365 preferred), and ERP systems
- Experience with Relux beneficial but not essential
